McKenzie Ancestors in the North-East of Scotland   My connection to the McKenzie family of Aberdeen comes through gg-grandfather James McLaren McKenzie. Son of shoemaker Alexander McKenzie (1808-1845) and Margaret Wallace (1807-1878), the family originated in Banffshire, but lived in Aberdeen from at least as early as 1830.
